Castaheany Clean-Up

Our weekly "Castaheany Clean-Up" is in conjunction with Ongar Tidy Towns and the “Adopt a Patch” scheme with Fingal County Council. Classes will be litter picking in the area surrounding Ongar playground and green. Fingal have supplied us with gloves, litter pickers and hi-viz vests.
This is a very worthwhile activity for our school as it promotes active citizenship, caring for our community, ethics and the environment. If you are free on Wednesdays then we would love parent volunteers! Please check the timetable to see when your child's class is taking part.

We made the front page of the Blanchardstown Gazette when we made banners to raise awarenes about the state of Ongar playground, pictured are Grainne's Junior Infants with banners by Paula and Hannah in Fiona's Fifth Class. Erica and the Student Council also met local TD and Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Leo Varadkar and presented him with our petition to get Ongar playground fixed up and maintained.
