Peace Proms

What's new?

Our wonderful Fourth Class will be performing in the Peace Proms Concert for an audience of over 2000 in Dublin's City West Convention Centre. The children have worked extremely, hard learning eight songs accompanied with dance moves. The children of Fourth Class have been practising twice a week since early October, in preparation for the upcoming concert. Castaheany ETNS is extremely proud of them!

Background of Peace Proms

The Peace Prom concerts date back to the first Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland (CBOI) initiative in 1995. This was a peace initiative bringing together children and people together from different backgrounds under the theme of peace and unity. The CBOI is internationally recognised as one of Ireland’s flagship peace initiatives and has become one of the most acclaimed orchestras that Ireland has ever produced.

Peace Proms Music

The CBOI’s music highlights the pop, folk and traditional culture of the island of Ireland. The children sing alongside a full symphony orchestra with the addition of traditional instruments such as the Lambeg Drum, Uilleann Pipes and Highland.

For the 2014 concert, Fourth Class will sing the following repertoire of songs:

Crossing Borders
Dance Evolution
The Muppets Medley
One World in Harmony
Power of One
Sir Duke
Superhits Medley
World in Union
